Neumann U-67-SET U 67 Tube Microphone Set with Z 48 Elastic Suspension/Power Supply/UC 5 Cable/Case
Neumann has reissued the iconic U 67, a tube microphone that shaped the sound of the 1960s and remains a studio standard to this day. Known for its versatility and smooth sound, the U 67 was the first microphone designed to accommodate modern recording techniques, such as close miking, with a switchable low-cut filter to compensate for proximity effect. Many professional engineers continue to favor the U 67 for its exceptional sound quality. The reissued model is sonically identical to the original, produced from 1960 to 1971, following the original design specifications.
The U 67 features three selectable polar patterns—omni-directional, cardioid, and figure-of-8—as well as advanced tube circuitry, and low-cut and pad switches, making it suitable for nearly any recording task. It delivers a smooth top end with a subtle tube "shimmer," making it ideal for vocal recordings, both male and female. Its linear response across the three polar patterns also makes it a highly versatile microphone, capable of capturing the full range of instruments, including strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, drums, acoustic and electric guitar, electric bass, upright bass, and more.
