Sound Quality
Many customers are disappointed to find that their USB turntable is only supplied with a sonically inferior budget cartridge. Many do not even realize that there is something vastly superior available. Vinyl records are known to have sound quality that is far greater than CD and MP3, yet many USB turntable customers currently cannot even achieve it!
First Point of Contact
The point at which the diamond touches the groove is the most important aspect of vinyl sound. The importance can be compared to tires on a car – despite what might be under the hood, a set of bald tires will be a limitation of any vehicle. In this case, the cartridge is crucial to extracting the best, most accurate sound out of vinyl records – new or old.
Stylus Geometry Made Simple
One notable difference which sets the Ortofon Arkiv cartridge apart from a budget needle is the shape of the diamond which sits in the groove. The Arkiv uses an elliptical stylus, which is carefully cut to obtain a shape that is able to make better contact with the groove walls, therefore dramatically extracting more fine details from the vinyl recording. Furthermore, an elliptical stylus creates far less record wear.
Ortofon’s Expertise and Commitment to Quality
Although there are numerous brands available on the market, very few of them can claim that they were
producing cartridges since the advent of the phonograph turntable. Ortofon’s history dates back to 1918, and their phonograph cartridges a hand assembled in Denmark and engineered to the highest standards.
Providing the Most Accurate Sound Reproduction for Archival
The Ortofon Arkiv provides optimal sound quality for archival and listening purposes. If your customer is going to spend countless hours transferring his vinyl collection to a digital format (or even just enjoying his or her old vinyl collection), the Arkiv will enable him or her to do it with the sound quality they’ve learned to expect from their precious vinyl!
