The VP83F is a compact condenser shotgun microphone designed to capture detailed, high-definition audio when video recording with DSLR cameras and camcorders. It can also be used with portable audio recorders. For ultimate convenience and standalone operation, it features integrated flash recording. A detachable coiled cable with a 3.5mm gold-plated connector allows simultaneous recording onto the camera.

The VP83F delivers professional quality, natural audio reproduction with high sensitivity, low self-noise, wide frequency range, and a full low-end response. Its shotgun format provides a supercardioid/lobar polar pattern, the most tightly directional pickup pattern possible, ensuring effective background noise rejection. The VP83F supports high-quality recording directly onto microSD cards (24-bit / 48 kHz, WAV file format), with an 8 GB microSD card capable of holding up to 15 hours of audio.
