JBL Pro
The engineering legacy that sets JBL apart from its industry competitors began with a dedicated focus on transducer technology. James B. Lansing founded JBL over 70 years ago and its engineers continue to evolve the science behind transducer design, breaking down barriers and setting new performance standards for the audio industry. As established from the outset by its founder, JBL develops everything from the ground up. This philosophy guarantees that JBL’s respected line of products always go beyond the steep expectations of audio professionals. JBL has amassed a long list of audio achievements, groundbreaking technologies, revolutionary advances in the science of professional audio, many patents, and a variety of awards. It is positioned as the leader in professional audio and is known for consistently blending creativity and science. JBL engineers develop from the ground up, starting from scratch, and are regularly rewarded with patents in the process. These efforts result in technologies, such as Differential Drive woofers, CMCD Cone Midrange drivers, and the D2 Dual Voice Coil Compression Driver, that cover the entire range of professional audio devices. JBL has created transducers that are unparalleled in their ability to deliver extraordinary performance throughout a wide array of applications.
JBL engineers had a deep desire to solve a complicated challenge familiar to all professional audio applications: how to increase performance while simultaneously minimizing overall system size and weight. The idea is to give touring sound companies and working sound engineers alike the ability to deliver unrivaled performance with their systems while reducing overall handling, transportation, and setup efforts and costs. JBL achieves this with a creative reconfiguration of the foundational elements of the low frequency driver. Heat sinks are built into the driver's cast aluminum frame, and the neodymium magnets are located inside the driver's dual voice coil assembly, completing the magnetic circuit but avoiding the heavy surrounding steel structure of conventional drivers. While dramatically cutting down on driver weight, every critical performance parameter is greatly enhanced: frequency response, power output and distortion. The sound quality that is created by this game-changing design is extremely transparent, even when being pushed to very high SPL. JBL loudspeakers boast exclusive dual voice coil and dual magnetic gap Differential Drive technology is featured at the core.
The EON series is Solotech’s top selling JBL loudspeaker line. Launched in 1995, JBL’s best-selling EON family of PAs set the industry standard for how great a powered loudspeaker system can sound. JBL engineers deliver unmatched performance by using exclusive, state-of-the-art design and measurement techniques. The EON700 Series represents a major step forward in both innovation and technology for JBL. Utilizing forward-thinking acoustic science, revolutionary transducer designs, the highest quality of cabinet materials, and highly advanced DSP and control technologies, the JBL EON700 series delivers extraordinary sound in a fully professional, extremely flexible, easy to use portable system. With four models available, including the 10-inch EON710, the 12-inch EON712 and the 15-inch EON715 powered PA speakers and the 18-inch EON718S subwoofer, EON700 systems cover the needs of today’s working musicians and sound providers.
