Q-SYS

Make AV Smarter.

Headquartered in Costa Mesa, CA, Q-SYS has regional offices in Sinsheim (Germany), Boulder (Colorado), Bengaluru (India) and Hong Kong, along with training, market development, sales/support offices and distribution facilities located throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. With established solutions across Corporate, Education, Hospitality, Venues & Events, Cinema, Government, Healthcare, and Transportation, Q-SYS raises the bar for both live and virtual experiences by uniting hardware and software partners, developers, and creators.

Q-SYS is a sophisticated unified software-based audio, video, and control platform primarily developed by QSC and informed by its long history in professional audio solutions. The company was first realized in the early part of the 2000s when QSC came to recognize the ever-growing need for network-based audio solutions that offer scalable and flexible audio processing to a variety of commercial applications.

Officially launched in 2009, the platform leveraged advances in IT technology and network infrastructure and utilized a software-centric approach, running on standard off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and standard network protocols. Offering a departure from proprietary, hardware-centric audio solutions, Q-SYS was revolutionary for the audio-visual industry.

The Q-SYS Core processors are the brains of the system and offer robust audio processing capabilities. Designed to support an array of functions including audio routing, processing, digital signal processing (DSP), and system control, the processors are a fundamental aspect to the system.

Q-SYS makes the configuration, management, and operation of complex AV systems easier due to its intuitive design and control software. System integrators and AV professionals are able to create customized audio, video, and control solutions tailored to specific needs by utilizing the Q-SYS Designer Software and its robust graphical user interface (GUI).

As the Q-SYS platform evolved, its capabilities were expanded to include video and control functions, transforming the system into a comprehensive AV&C (Audio, Video, and Control) ecosystem. End-to-end solutions for complex projects were then enabled, ranging from corporate boardroom environments to large-scale venues such as sports stadiums and conference halls.

It can be said that key strengths of the Q-SYS platform are its interoperability and scalability, a combination that offers adaptability for wide-ranging applications while ensuring future-proofing possibilities. The versatility of the Q-SYS platform allows for support of integration with various third-party devices and systems.

Q-SYS has more than earned its reputation for reliability, performance, and innovation throughout its evolution during the first half of the 21st century. The fact that it continues to be a preferred choice among AV professionals and integrators looking for a seamless, scalable, and powerful AV&C solution should be no surprise. The commitment to ongoing development and enhancements by QSC ensure that Q-SYS remains at the forefront of the AV technology landscape.
